The Guild Committee is busy organising the schedule of monthly meetings from September to May. There will be a fun mix of spinning, felting, weaving and more.
What day? First Tuesdays of each month, Sept to May. Visitors are always welcome. You can find out about membership here.
The first meeting this year will be Tuesday, 6 September 2016. It’s a Show and Tell – bring along your latest project as well as your wheel or knitting. Catch up from the summer break, and the guild schedule will be announced.
Time? We meet from 7:30pm to usually 9pm in the Lagan Room at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum. The gate will be open during the meeting times, and you can come in to the courtyard.
How to find us
We are located in the Learning Centre courtyard of the Ulster Folk museum in Cultra. This is the folk section of the museum, not the transport section.
The gate to the Learning Centre (to the left of the ticket building) will be open. In nice weather, there are white tables and chairs in the courtyard, surrounded by several classrooms. The Lagan Room is on the left after you go in the courtyard.
There are detailed instructions on the museum website for driving, bus and rail.
Often, members come to the first meeting, and then find others who they can share transport with, since people come from all over and they can car-share together. So please do come along and you might find an easier way to get there next time.
Here are some other handy links:
Driving? You can use Ulster Folk and Transport Museum Google Route finder to find out how to get there.
By bus? Find a bus which goes to the museum. Search Bus timetables. There is a 1/1a/1b/2 and the 502a / 502b buses which go between Belfast – Holywood – Bangor.
By rail? You can use the journey planner to see how to get to Cultra.
If you see this great willow knitting sculpture – you’re in the right place! Just look for the Lagan Room there.
